Hackney Carnival

The Hackney Carnival is Hackney Council’s most high profile outdoor cultural event. The carnival draws thousands of residents, businesses, visitors and local artists together for one day each year to celebrate Hackney’s cultural diversity, heritage and community life. It is an animated showcase of the artistic and creative prowess of the local community and endeavours to be an inclusive, accessible and diverse celebration of all that is Hackney.

The carnival is far from a one-day event however, and the borough’s carnival groups work throughout the year to engage participants in education, training, employment and activities that support health, wellbeing and community cohesion within Hackney.
