In May and July 2024, London experienced two significant electoral events: the GLA and London Mayoral elections, followed by the General Election. This presented considerable administrative and logistical challenges for the city's boroughs, which are responsible for election delivery.

Adding to the complexity, these elections marked the first major implementation of new regulations, including mandatory voter ID, changes to constituent boundaries, the requirement of a National Insurance number for postal votes, and alterations to the overall voting system.
