The Hello Again, Hackney campaign was created to encourage residents and visitors to rediscover their favourite venues, businesses and public spaces and help get the local economy back on its feet after the strain of the coronavirus pandemic – with a packed programme of summer events and family activities.

A key strand of the campaign was to celebrate the reopening of Hackney's cultural venues in September - December 2021, when it was expected that most cultural venues would be welcoming back audiences.

  • In 2021, as lockdown restrictions began to ease, Hackney Council's Hackney Design Studio spearheaded a revitalisation campaign titled "Hello Again, Hackney." Hackney Design Studio was asked to create a campaign that would breathe new life into the borough's economy and cultural scene, which had been significantly impacted by the pandemic.

  • To boost both in-person and online engagement with footfall within the borough, we developed a vibrant, positive campaign with diverse assets. Our strategy included a mobile activation sign travelling across the borough to encourage social media sharing, complemented by borough-wide outdoor advertising and targeted street banner installations. Additionally, we created simple animated social media assets and postcards to further spread the word and enhance the positive perception of the Council’s cultural and summer events.
